HP FABRICS goes for Aton / AOI Solution

The Swiss company invests in the 3D AOI system by Delvitech
HP FABRICS, a Swiss company based in Canton Schwyz, chose the 3IS solution for its branch in Canton Tessin. HCS ELECTRONIC as the manufacturing plant of HP FABRICS will soon deploy an Aton machine and it’s 3IS software, which will guarantee several benefits, supporting HP FABRICS in the production of assembled printed circuit boards.
HP FABRICS has a business with a high-mix low-volume line manufacturing. In recent years HP FABRICS is having to cope with fluctuations in the electronics market. “The real challenge is knowing how to adapt to a continuously evolving market”, says Germano Cominardi, COO of HP FABRICS and HCS ELECTRONIC. “The necessity to have a smarter AOI system is becoming more and more urgent. For this reason, our company is always looking for cutting-edge technologies to promptly reply to the customer’s needs”, comments Mr. Cominardi.
For the AOI inspection of the SMT and THT lines, HP FABRICS has evaluated several options available on the market to determine which solution better met the requirements, especially considering the flexibility to grow with customers’ business. Delvitech has been selected, not only for its cutting-edge technology but especially for the Neith software. Neith is based on modularity that guarantees higher amounts of customization. Delvitech’s usage of artificial intelligence presents new features, such as self-programming, which makes recipe creation easier due to a cloud-based package library and recipe management solution. The algorithm is capable to acquire in total autonomy the images and heightmaps with minimal external inputs.
“We are very glad for this collaboration”, says Roberto Gatti, Delvitech CEO. “ The fact of having an Aton machine installed very close to our HQ will allow us to not only support HP FABRICS in the best way possible. Is the beginning of a strategic collaboration, that will bring benefits to both organizations”, concludes Roberto Gatti.
